I did own the 1.6 auto for a while until some kind lady hit me up the rear when I was crossing Wroxham bridge and she was busy looking at the boats ,it wrote the MX3 off.it was a nice motor

Its a great feeling getting a pass for another year .I do plan to overhaul the rear brake calipers fairly shortly.what an amazing tribute to Mazda ,a car that's 28 years old ,and everything electric still works.I have been collecting old favourite cassette tapes, cruising with the ELO can't beat it Mushman

My MX3 is due its MOT this Friday,so fingers crossed that all is well.Then hopefully get some nice warm sunny weather and go for a few long runs .At the moment I am struggling to get some new ignition leads as a mouse has chewed through one .If anyone knows of the best place to get a set I would be most great full,I have of course tried eBay. Huckmush

Hi the only thing that comes to mind is that the calipers could possibly need an overhaul, Getting a repair kit and replacing the piston and seals is relatively easy.I bought two second hand calipers fairly cheaply ,and took my time rebuilding them before fitting,brakes work perfectly now Mushman

@mickthemaverick Thanks for taking the time to reply. I think I may have found the requisite part but won’t know for sure until I can get the car to the garage next week. Fingers crossed I’ll be up and motor running in no time but it’s good to have another contact should I need one.

If it has the power steering pipe diagram that would be brilliant, but If you can cut and paste just that diagram it would save a huge email and you could possibly just post it on here. Whichever suits you best would be great for me. Cheers

I took mine in for a new coil spring and they did that ignition switch recall at the same time. That was 2 weeks ago!!

@arandomgadjee if you find anywhere let me know! I’ve got a pair of RX8 front seats to go in mine that need mounting brackets sorting/welding/fabricating and electrics. Will get around to it one day.

Hello, As well as checking what Marco has advised, i would also check all of the hoses and the vacuum system. Also look at the connectors and see if there is any water ingress.
