Help needed

  • Note: I'm not the most technically minded person.

Picture stolen from Mooneggs. (Thanks buddy)

    I have that inlet manifold.

Problem is that, while it was being cleaned and painted. Some bastards walked off with the box of everything that came off it, except the fuel rails (and everything needed to attach them)

I have my spare K8 laying around.

Anyone ID it? and have some images and brains of what I can take off the k8 Inlet manifold to replace what was nicked.

  • I believe that most of the parts are not the same… I no longer have a k8 to compare but I would say the best thing would be to see if you could go to a junkyard and pull everything from a millenia...

Are you missing EVERYTHING? I mean like you took every little piece off for the painting?

  • I have the fuel rails and everything needed to attach them, that's it.

No hoses, nothing to move the two adjuster thingys at the back, one is in the same place as a K8, the other is at a 90o angle to it on the back\left hand side of it looking down.

The millenia in the UK is the Xedox 9 a 2.3 V6.. would it be the same?

I know it's the wrong type of IM but here:

The K8 also has a number of black blocks under it, which mine lacks?

I need to research this IM

Will take a trip to see this tomorrow morning.. might be lucky.

  • The actuators in the pic are the two vris solenoids the k8 will have matching as they are controlled by the ecu so will swap over fine.
The k8 will have a load of egr pipes etc which you won't need.
I could map out my vacuum set up but I'm on a straight neck not a curved so may be different.

  • The second on is mounted at a different angle on the ZE to the K8. The first one does thou.

  • It does not matter how or where they are mounted. You could make a bracket up and mount it anywhere.

  • I'm not sure if these guys are too far from you or not???

These guys would probably have what you need, but they are real cowboys. They would say they had it in stock even if they did not!!

They only way to deal with them would be to phone them and see if they will even let you have parts of an engine instead of the whole thing, then check if they have any in stock, then tell them you will come down and have a look bearing in mind that they might not have what you want even if they said they would.

Do be careful with these guys they are idoits. Its a real last resort.

Lucky would be the owner actually showing the frack up.

    Oh well.

Admin, do I take everything off the K8 and just mount it the same with some custom brackets? I don't recall the manifold I have ever having the black boxes underneath it.

  • I think I have a complete K8 inlet manifold sat in my shed at work with all ancillaries attached, will try to get in there tomorrow to have a look
