Ecu obd2 help

hi guys,
sorry to ask on here but i cant find the answer anywhere, ive got a 98 v6 with obd2, i, planning on an engine swap in the future, but it all depends on the ecu, i dont want to swap the harness over because i wouldnt know where to start and think it would cost to much to do.
so would a late probe of mx6 ecu be obd 2? and would that work with the engine swap and more importantly can it be chipped to take a klze?cheers
