Valley's - 93 GS Project

  • RPI gave me a cheap deal on my kit as I checked his adverts for him you see on the uk ebay. Basically i grammer checked them and spell checked them for him as he doesnt speak that great english :)

The bodyshop gave me a cheap deal due to them only just starting up and needed a car to show everyone how good they were :) So they asked me and obviously i agreed!!! lol

Anyways, i dont wanna high jack ya thread so let us know how it all goes mate :)

  • busted!!!!

found out a possible reason why the kit is so cheep. comes with no bracket mountings. there for it would need slight modding to fecking fit.

secondly the reply i had about a sponsorship was we are not looking for a deal at the moment. (feckers)

anyway rsroadkilla, what was the condition of your kit did it come with mounting brackets. if not how easy was it for your body shop to fit these to the new skirts then to the car. as im sure with the kit im looking at it will only bump up the price

  • none of it come with kits except for the drift rear bumper, which 1. I sold as its crap… and 2. They were in the wrong place anyways lol

To fit my front bumper, they bonded the front impact bar to the kit with lots of sticy stuff and fibreglassed it in properly, and also built up the sections where it meets the wings and built in some pins to bolt it on by.

Basically when you take the front valance off, it has the impact bar bonded to it, and 4 lil pins either side by the wings to bolt it through the wings aswell. Hard to describe, butIts getting re-sprayed soon so i will take some pics when it is off so you can see mate.

As for the sides, you dont need any fixing points. If you dry fit them so they fit perfectly and there is no flex, you simply just have to bond them on with lots and lots on tiger seal. We rocked the car by my skirts once they had bonded, and there was no cracking, movement in them at all. 9 months later and theres no sign of cracking or flexing at all!

Most cheap kits will need around 5 hours fixing, so remember to count this in the cost, whereas my mate bought a reiger kit for his Vaux... payed the extra for a decent kit and it fitted straight on with minimal sanding! And i mean minimal!!!

Bodykits are 1 thing you shouldnt skimp on. Theres pretty much always a reason as to why they are cheap if it be poor fitment, or poor fibreglass!

  • thanks for the advice mate. i will see if they can send me excat photos of the kit to be fitted and take to my bodyshop to see what advice they can give me and a rough price ball park. however been thinking about your previous idea. smoothing out the entire car and lowering on 17's. with a respray. as this may be something different and eye catching.

however when i had the car the front bumber skirt was cracked (previous owner took a speed bump lil too fast.) so i had this fixed and smoothed out looked sweet till some fecking chav put their foot in to it ( even left foot print) this has been fixed again but im sure the new supports will give way soon so in mean time might have a look round for new bumber with splitter to get a price.

following that your right about the white led's everyone i seen with neons wants to know where to get them and how much. but one problem got mine trade.

    :P  :D

  • any way been shopping alot on line for part for my baby. managed to get a decat pipe including delivery off ebay for 40 quid. will give you lot the seller when i get in to ebay some time. also looking for high shift cams and if there is such a thing sports tappets. let us know if you have any ideas on this.

  • You do know that its only legal to De-cat a pre 1992 car!

After that its not legal due to emissions regulations brought in at the end of 1992.

So if you have a 93 don't bother you will have to source a hi-flow CAT instead.

Also a "De-Cat" pipe is just a standard piece of exhaust pipe that is cut to the same length as your CAT and has the correct sized ends welded on, £40 a bit steep I made one once for £8.

As for sports tappets, I have no Idea but I cant see why you would need to upgrade your tappets so probably not.

Also that would be "High Lift Cams" you are looking for not shift. The extra lift on the CAM Lobes lets your intake valves stay open slightly longer and therefore have more time to draw in more air/fuel mixture.
Depending on the increase in CAM size you might need to get your fueling looked at aswell, ECU's can learn to a degree but it is limited.

    Hope that helps…

  • got me an old photo.

  • Sweet! :D

  • finished the bumper today. im happy with the outcome!! alot better that the crack along bottom.

  • Wow thats weird! But I really like it! Looks nice and smooth job up top

  • think your on about the angel of the pic. lol just realised it also.

  • which way did you do that?

  • what you mean which way did i do that.???

but how i did it was. wire mesh at back at vent. sandwiched filler mixed with wire fibre. then fibre glasses etc to build up layers. bottom was totally with fibreglass to get support for the bottom splitter and just cut out the down teath on the middle vent splitters. covered with matched paint and laquer.

i know i will need to do a few other things when the funds come along wire mesh grill and convert side lights and indicators (hush hush). but she looks better that it was.

also been told that there is some form of paint coat that is rubbe based which will protect against stone chips.

  • I like that a lot, looks really smooth and the bonnet flows better into the bumper.

  • lol I don't like having to tilt my head - looks nice though :D
