Smartins - red mul project

  • My Mazda MX-3 1.8 V6 just arrived this Saturday 24 August.

It's full stock engine, interior and exterior.

First pics and my first job on it good polish

Today going to finish polish, and start work on new seats from mitsubishi fto, and fto vacuum and voltmeter gauges.

    Mods to do:

    Fto Seats and gauges
    Tint windows
    steering wheel change
    coilovers
    16" or 17" wheels
    change or remove spoiler
    Front and rear headlights change
    Exaust back box
    Sound system
    Short shifter

    First look FTO seats

  • looks nice and clean, it will be interesting to see how the FTO seats look.

It will probably be quite a task finding a set of FTO seats in mint condition, they always wear on the drivers side bolster.

I went through 3 drivers seats on my FTO and in the end I found a good seat and put a better quality piece of foam in the bolster and covered the foam with a piece of gaffa tape to stop the seat cover being able to rub against the cover and wear it away. I never had any problems after that.

Just incase you don't already know, you can get bucket seats in the pre 1994 MX-3's as standard.

  • I don't touch the seats today, just finish polishing and wax, tomorow after work maybe fit the vacuum and voltmeter gauges, and during the week do something with the seats…

I know about those seats from previous mx-3, but those ones from fto i get it free from a friend. if you know anything can be fitted from fto to mx-3 just let me know cause my friend got a spare fto and he give me everything I want.

  • FTO seats already done

I fit a old 15" wheels I've found in the shed from my old vw polo and red wheel nuts…

  • Great work on them seats Bro!

  • Thanks, fit the sits wasn't a easy job, but finally I done it.
I've to take better pics cause I take those ones very close…

Yesterday MOT passed without any advisory note, so that 3 new presents
to my baby are coming next week..

  • Nice work on the seats :). Did you modify the fto metalwork to fit the mx-3?
