ZE heads

  • I have been mulling this over today after looking at the eunos wondering what to remove to try to recoup some money on this wreck

Now the heads on a klze are the parts that make it the 26bhp more than stock KLDE

Now the same is apparent in the K8ZE and the plain old UK K8 engine

Now if all the K8 heads fit either the K8 and the KLDE that would mean the heads would be the same for the KLZE and the K8ZE ?????

So if I took a set of K8ZE heads would these go on a KLDE and effectively turn this into a KLZE ????

has anybody looked into this before ????

If they havent then this could make V6 eunos presso's a bit more valuable, I was considering removing the heads from this presso before I scrap it, is there any marks on the head I should find or does anyone know the codes for the heads on these

  • The ZE heads are always stamped KL31-101 and KL31-1A1.
The DE is stamped KL-101 and KL-1A1

No ideas as to the K8ZE heads then
It makes sense for them to be the same, will be stripping that car so will keep you posted when I remove them

  • Im only guessing they will be different, I'm not that clued up on the kfze internals.
But it will make for good investigation !

They are only a part of it, the pistons are different, the compression ratio higher, the cams are more agressive, the inlet manifold is very different, and is the part that gives the most performance, when coupled with correctly activated VRIS points.

  • Thanks ROC, will sell it to someone with a K8 then

  • Well I got down to the head bolts but some serious issues came up so I sent the heads off with the shell as I couldnt get them off

I now know that genuine K8ZE heads are K801 stamped and an absolute arse to remove
