Fuel leak

  • fuel leak!!!!!!!!!!! I noticed it today a small pool of petrol coming from one of the 3 thin pipes at the back end  anyone know a way of sealing it off, apoxy resin maybe? something…..help :(

  • Could try epoxy resin, will be tricky getting it to adhere where leak is though, how about sleeving it + a couple of inches past leak either side and then epoxy resin over the sleeve??

  • so the garage say its a breather pipe that rotten?? anyone know were i can get one?

  • fordprobestore buddy

  • dude!!!!! do you know what its actually called??

  • Yeah, My eunos had to have them done, one sec.

  • so I am clear cause we know I am a dumbass, there are 3 pipes leading to a large pipe its the large pipe I need, mech told me Its not a feed pipe but a breather that is rotten?????

  • In that case wait for a more mech minded guy to reply,

I needed the breather pipes and the break hoses done, but thats the only pipe I got (not sure if my mech got any)

I don't want to give bad advice bud.

  • thats cool, the mech said I would need to find one but its an import  he is a bit dim, I can't patch it either cause its to far gone…...

Mine lost 1/2 tank of gas on teh way up here, and it didn't even touch a road.

The only time I did drive it was the 10 miles from my house to the mech and it cost me £15 in petrol.

    Mine were well fucked.

  • more concerned with going out in a blaze of glory really

If you do get pics

The breather pipe is probably rubber. I think they do rot a lot on these I know they do on 323's, look in the wheel arch below the filler cap, you will see the large plastic pipe to the tank and a small breather next to it.

If its coming from the engine bay then it will be the return pipe, the copper very rarely rots right out, but they have a rubber pipe going from the copper on the bulkhead to the engine because it needs the flex for the engine movement it is probably that so you will need to find which pipe it is and find the outside diameter of the copper pipe it joins to and ask for fuel hose with the inside diameter the same as the outside, most motor factors that is going to be a couple of quid for about half a meter but you need to find which pipe it is

  • will get a picture in the am but its a metal pipe thats sealed at the top, 3 smaller pipes at the base of this pipe are seamed in, the cracks are at the bottom of the large pipe, all this is at the rear near the filler. ta…. it stopped leaking when the tank level dropped below half, the mech said if i could get that main pipe with the 3 attached, about a metre then they could join them onto the old ones. I reckon thats gonna be a tough find tbh.

  • oh yeah sorry blaze of glory pics

Joining pipes will be fine, you need to find the outside diameter of the copper pipe and just buy a small roll of it

  • Its about an inch in diameter and joining 3 pipes to the main over flow is not mean feat, its basically one pipe that splitts into 3 all metal and not something i can bodge it and scarper..
