Small Lighter Socket!

I was most annoyed when i tried to use a sat nav in the M-EX the other day and realised it had a non standard size lighter socket!
Is this true of all models and if so how have people got around it?

No its a uk model. Its well annoying cus it means on long journeys where the sat nav is required i have to ride shotgun in my girlfriends lime green 1.4 Ibiza :cry: :lol:

Solution = Retrofit the lighter socket out of the Volvo 480 that im breaking! It seems like a mission but i can do it when i put my new head unit in next week.
