Got a problemo and needs some help please

  • hi lads and lass.
my cars been sitting a week waiting for cover note so i can tax it,any way taxed it today and went for a drive,i immediately noticed clunkin from drivers side, when i got out to inspect i could here like a "you know when you spray your windscreen??like a fuzzzzzz noise?" i could here that kind of noise.

could you let me know what it might be please.
oh after a half hour drive it stopped the clunking.
never done it when i last had it on rd.
    thanks in advance for replys

  • was the clunking only when pulling away or turning the wheel half lock or more and moving slowly, ie parking???

I hah an annoing clunking noise and it turned out to be CV joints on both sides, even though I could only hear it coming from drivers side.

No idea about the fzzzz noise, are you sure the motor isn't stuck on for winny squirt???

defo not on window squirt lol.
yea when slowly moving from parked its doing it,
got up and went out dismorning and no problems.
woner if joints need greasing and was just cold from sitting :?:
sounds and felt like drivers side, fuzzing noise was from drivers side.
found some one whos got them new for £30 a pair "cv joints"
whats the worsed that can happen if they do mess up proply?
    thanks

  • If it is your cv joint that is worn you would heear it more when cornering, the sound would be like a metalic click.

Only had a few joints fail completly.. mainly on newer VW.. it can be from just the fact it throws the driveshaft out to locking the cv joint.

This is turn causes you to lose drive.

from that then,it cant be the cv joint.
i was thinking power steering may of been cold and warmed up "the fffzzzzz".
really not sure on the clunk though now.
its not made 1 noise dismorning so im thinking it was just because of it sitting a week

  • If you could post a sound clip or video… might help us to help you diagnose the noise. :P
