Epic's MX3

  • Hi, nice to find another MX3 forum :D

    My ride is 92 mx3 k8.

Mods done. Red koni adjustabals, H&R 45mm springs and 17" alloys (bumpy ride, but sticks to the road like glue)

Ongoing mods. Engine swap this weekend ( have a condemmed mx3 with a kl-de), and hopefully manage to fit my stainless exhaust manifoild.
And waiting for shortshifter and breaks from corksport.

Future mods. Full paintjob and all polly brushings (when I find a place to buy them)

Will post some pictures after the swap, just need to buy a cam :)

  • sounds good, get some pics up ;) What brakes you order? They seem to sell a big brake kit, but haven't known anyone that has bought them :(

  • I ordered the KVR discs, dont you need to relocate the calipper in order to fit bigger discs?

  • They sell a big brake KIT, which includes two larger 4 pot callipers and 11.6" rotors

    http://corksport.com/store/category/53g5/mx3-brakes.html

    @c81194e9bb:

KVR Wilwood 11.6'' two piece big rotor kit (4 POT)
    Brake Rotor Style
    Price: $1450.00

Was hoping you had ordered them so you could post pics and review them!

Similar to the kit jeroentje.nl sell, except wilwood, not ksport:

What part of Norway are you from? I was in Oslo, Arendal, Kristiansand, Nesoya and a few other places on tour last summer :)

yes definately post pics… not many mx-3's have upgraded brakes...

  • Sorry if I have misslead you, what I am going to do with the breaks, are new rotors but the same size. Paint calliper and better pads.

  • Welcome to the forum, get some pics up of ya ride..

    :) :)

  • Well that was a nice weeend, I now have a kl-de in my mx. GOD DAMMIT its so much fun :D Were some nasty bumps in the road tho, lots of stuff that had decided to rust into place :) But we got it done, now only a few thigs I have to fix tomorow, some loose suspension stuff and a new gasket for the sump pan.

And a warning. If you dont have the equiptment to heat and bend stainless headers, dont buy it of ebay. When we had bolted on one side, the other side were like 2" off.

Was hoping to get some photos posted, but for some reason I cant upload to photobucket. Does anyone know of another place to put my pictures?

  • Well I got a few pics up.

My pride and joy (needs a paint job tho:))

    2.5 nice and clean

And btw, rear mounted engine in a mx3… not the best idea

  • Good job, damn that block looks clean :P

  • EPIC - I see the mx on the lift has the headlight washer nozzles… any way you could get some closer up pics of those and maybe the switch inside? :o

from my research that is an extremely rare feature on the mx-3 and if you have more photos that would be so cool!!!

  • Sure Il see if I manage to get a few pics uploaded. Tbh I hate those things, im gonna take the bumper from the donor car.

  • it looks as if someone is about to make Mooneggs' life!!!!!

  • pass him the man sized!!!

  • lookin good! hard to find engines that clean!

where did u get them black bumper light covers from?? i want some let me kniow if ur selling them :D

  • Thanks, just to put it strait. We power washed the engine before we put it in my car, it will get dirty soon enough

Yeah the plate covers…..go to your start menu, select programs accsesories and paint 8)

  • i think he might have meant your black indicator/signal lights!

  • LOL sorry was in a hurry there  Well they came with the donor car, but it is not a quality piece. They have only tinted the stock glass.

    Thanks Stephen :)

  • Sorry about the slow update, been working round the clock for the last six months. Pluss between the dealers and the norwegian customs I took me 2 months to get my parts from the states.

But finaly I might get some time to work on my baby. Got new callipers for the front (almost the same price as rep kit) with slotted discs from corcsport as well as Hawk pads. For the rear I got very lukcy. I had decided to drop the rear as just the callipers cost 2500nok (about 230£) But then I found a jewl on the norwegian mazda forum, discs, wheelhub (with bearings) pads and callipers from a rx7 FC all modifyed to fit the mx3 for 200£ both sides.
I also recived the B&M shortshifter and bronzoil brushings from corcsport.
Anything special I should know about the shifter job?

Also decided to build a magnaflow system form the headers and all the way back. Pricy as hell, but I think it will sound awsome.

I will post some pics as soon as I get started. Cant wait

Not sure if theese will work. I get back from work in a week, then I can get some better ones.

He basicaly just made a bracket to get the calliper "high enough" to reach over the disc.
