280 BHP!!!

  • Just got a quote from a company called Inline Motors for a BPD conversion, putting out 280 bhp, £3200.

Thats a lot of BHP for a car weighing 1060kg!!!

If they are going to do all the work and supply the parts then that is a damm good price!!!

That sort of power would be fun too

    Jono

  • they told me, its ready to drive out when they're finished with it

  • nice! these guys? http://www.inlinemotors.co.uk/

From what I've read, seems to include a rebuild and the fact they specialize in mazdas is very promising. I like doing the work myself but have to admit an all in one package like that is very attractive! Let us know what you do :)

  • dont think im gonna go for it, insurance wont even insure me on the V6 so they'd laugh at me if i turned around and asked for an engine twice as powerful!!

I hope someone does it though!!!

why wont they insure u on the 6 :? im only just 19 an im insured on the v6 no no claims cus was onn me parents on my corsa only costs me 1400 fro the year on the v6 an was gna cost me 1300 on the corsa what would i rather insure hmmm let me think lol!

some insurance companies are kind when it comes to engine transplants they jus mark it as engine non standard no matter what size or power! my mates putin a gti 6 in his 306 instead of a 1.9 tdi an it only costing him an extra 400 on insurance!

  • yea don't give up the dream until you ring around. I found with all companies I tried the v6 was cheaper to insure than i4! Do adrian flux cover ROI?

  • the biggest problem is i dont have a full licence.

Unfortunately Adrian Flux dont cover down here.

My insurance is €2200! on a crappy 1.6!

Also found a company in the states that can ship out B6T's and BPT's.

$700 for the B6T and i think $1200 for the BPT, and shipping is $500

  • shhhhhhh just don't tell them :P

 omg how did that get there! I thought this was faster than my micra!

    Lol

Someone must have changed it during the night!!! lol

  • hmmm.

i was thinkin that, but im scared :(

And i'd still need to find someone to slap it in!

I worked out that if i can get anything over 150bhp into my mx, itll have a higher power to weight ratio then my mate's civic with an Integra Type R engine in it!!

    Thats my goal!!

  • is that 3200 price in euro or sterling. my insurance is the same price as yours and im in the 1.5 .

i have the 1.8v6 with the se engine. and the type r integra leaves me behind like im driving a robin

  • I decimated a teg "type R" in my 1.8v6, methinks his type R badges and kit were lying!

  • this is the type i was on about

    http://honda-type-r.com/photo/honda-integra-type-r-2.jpg

think also may have been a turbo.

  • ye but the integra is lighter then the civic he is in, i think the integra is lighter then our cars and with 200bhp on tap, not including the turbo, it would smoke most of us!

    His civic is 1300kg

and the mx3 looks faster, so it is faster.

    simple physics!

  • not necesseraly!

by a power to weight ratio that means that a 1.8 v6 would be quicker than a 1.6 civic vti never mind a civic with a 2.2 vtec in it! and trust me them vtis can whipe the floor with the 1.8 v6 mx3 if they have been looked after from new and are running good which is a rareaty! so surely a civic with a teg engine in woukld be alot faster!

  • well our cars are approx 1120kg stock
    tegs are approx 1200kg stock

I think h22 civics run about the same times as a ze mx3 would. Big difference is it costs them a hell of alot more to get that engine (plus ecu, wiring loom, mounts, uprated shafts) and get it to work in there, ours is almost plug n play. Oh yea the other difference is they look like shit

hahah agreed! i do like some features on the dc5 and i like the civic type r and the s2000 but other than them 3 i really dont like the look of honda cars!

  • well, the 1.6 is 1060kg and i think the BPT would be the same.

I'd love to smoke a few civics!

Unfortunately, i think my car could be a write off. i've to send the estimate to insurance. some guy in an Avensis estate slipped off the clutch and his bounded into mine and there is chassis damage in the spare wheel well
