I've Got one! But got a question…

  • Well finally picked her up and oh my god what a car! So smooth, great power and the handling is unbelieavable. I love this car.

However got a couple of problems.

First of all i bent the key in the door lock lol as it was so stiff but sorted that wd40.

Second problem though, stopped for fuel and noticed a drible of fluid coming from the drivers side front corner. Fluid looks like soap and water foam, no odour on the liquid and is not oily. The leak happens to be in the region of the washer bottle, but the leak only happens when the car is running. The radiator appears to be fine, however the expansion tank level is a fair amount the max mark - , could the excess water in the expansion tank be travelling across to the opposite corner? And would this excess fluid foam up?

Has anybody had a similar exsperience or got any advice.

Door lock and key problem now fixed - I have got myself two new keys so I can at least get in and out without fear of snapping the key :)

I've just found out what this problem is now. It appears I have a tiny, pinhole sized hole in the radiator hose (top left hose) … cunningly hidden under another section of hose that has been 'sleeved' over the top of it. The temp gauge got a little high today because I was in stop/start traffic, whereas the journey home from collecting it was in the freezing cold with barely any stops, so I had a nice flow of cool air across the radiator.

What size is this hose so I can get hold of a replacement? I'm thinking maybe get a Samco one seeing as it actually needs replacing 8)

  • good work mate, sounds like a cheap repair! Not sure what diameter the hose is, probably says in the manual http://mx-3.com//manuals/index.php

  • If your in Ellesmere Port go and get one from Clwyd Breakers in Ruabon.

  • Cheers yep ill try the breakers for some parts. the car is gettin a full service this friday so hopefully it will run ok after that then its goin to powerflow for a new exhaust :D

    thanx for the help
