Ground Wire Kit

  • I bought a MazdaSpeed Groundwire kit a few days ago
I managed to place it today.
But i didnt put my car up, so there are still 2 points missing ( transmission and engine block )
So now i have 2 more mods on my K8.
Mazdaspeed GroundWire Kit and some black Altezza's

OMO, the ground wire DOES NOT give any extra power to the car ( i know that it is not fully assembled ) but it does help on this features:
    Headlight's are really bright
    Radio sounds better
Less stall on each gear change
    Car start's really fast

It seems to me , that it makes the car act like it had some wrench time spent

Where did you get the kit from & how much, if you dont mind me asking?

    Jono

  • how does a ground wire kit work and how do you fit it thanks

  • i just got it from EBAY.
It is easy to connect, just ask it here when you have it ;)

  • i work for an electronics company, there is all types or wire and crimps available. im gonna make my own. im thinking of replacing the original isted of adding more. ive measured the resistance of the main chassis to battery cable and it was 20 ohms. should be nearer to zero!

  • 4 Terras, i didnt get all technical, but i noticed this car model has some baddd grounding.
That is why i noticed some changes when i placed it ;)
I advice this mod to anyone with a MX3 :)

  • what cable do i use to make my own.
my only mods are a cone filter and a ecotek vaulve.

  • all you need is some cable the same size as your positive to your battery, that way the resistance should be the same and will give a better circuit. Obviosly (or maybe not) the longer the cables the more resistance there will be. Use copper cables as they have a low restivity, and for ease of crimping get the stuff with lots of strands as it will form better in your lug.

  • thats right James, the longer it is the more resistance, but also good quality wire is needed,

JDMC, a ground wire kit is basically just a set of wires that connect to the negative side of the battery and certain points of the car, (engine, chassis etc) and offers better negative grounding for the car, so basically fitting it is just doing above 8)

  • i mite post a pic of the one i made at work. if there is interest trhen i could make some up and sell them on the site for a very small fee ( £5 posted maybe ) . ive only replaced the main battery negative cable. the origonal one needs to be cut off of some type of loom cos it goes to some other components. thenm bolt in the new one.

    anyone interested :?:

  • yer i imagine it goes to the ignition :?

  • it goes from the battery to the chassis.

  • oooo 4 terras you still up for makeing some ?
can i have a pic of yours ?

  • second that motion!

still wanna make a few up??!!

  • This shouldn't be too hard as a DIY project.
Called in my local car spares shop today and they have all the stuff.

What happened to 4terra making them up?
