Welly's - GT4 Engine Swap Project (Celica GT4 / MR2 REV3)



  • ok, been working on it again 2day..

    alot faster now timing is getting there..

    gna plug it into krypton tuning some time.

    it breaks traction in a few gears and we was only reving it to 4500.

    traction is fairly good though, it pops and bangs lol…

    got a video of first tester run, at 4500k revs.

    got a few things left to do, then dumpvalve etc will come.

    engine has a few faults, engine managment light which is cutting boost and power :(

    most of engine sensors arnt working either.

    we'll sort it.

    but with your base car being a stock 1.6 automatic , you will have to change a hell of a lot of parts ! or she will go boom



  • gear linkages toyota,drive shafts toyota,engine toyota with AM internals,

    she aint going to go boom mate.

    in the video was only bossting about 4psi because of ecu and sensors..just wait till we boosting the standard 16.7 should shift then abit more for scooby teasing lol

    front suspension legs changed for V6 ones as a a little bit stiffer.

    engine mounts all made perfect etc.

    Dads having a word with his mate, works for rolls royce think hes making us a manifold and down pipe.

  • Blown turbo nearly its not boosting right at all.

    sooo better hurry and get new 1:(

  • update!!

    its boosting off the turbo gauge!!

    damage was, burn exhaust side of turbo,blown 2 holes in exhaust manifold,and blowing inlet rubbers away, but been told its easy and loses traction soon as boost comes in,

    there mx3 ones still..and yes they do stop it very well..

    jsut set on fire sometimes.

    if you know how to break then your ok,engine breaking works well..

    Boost Gauge And Pod - soon to be mounted on drivers, pillar.

    Custom Downpipe Made by us of of stainless 3".

    Turbo's been changed around 3 times and again tomorrow (sunday)

    so wait for aloud of picture to be uploaded :)

  • i went out in it earlyer this week, sorted a few things, and soon as the boost came in it felt like your head was being crushed on your forhead lmfao.

    but its running alot faster since i last went into it now, according to my dad…its hectic . so more video's will be on the way

    ready for some discs and pads also, getting some break fade now its running better under breaking, infact they stopped working the other week lol, so had to pump them like fuck, but they worked. so now looking into break upgrades possibly gt4 breaks.



  • thought you would of upgraded the breaks when you did the swap. as putting that power from the gt4 engine at that boost would defo needed some extra stopping power. (just my thought)
