  • well its all on the way since i posted on the forum the first time

anywho here wots happening just bought the kl31 ecu today 117 pounds from new zealand paid my deposit for the KLZE from nippon and will be arriving on my front door in 2 weeks time when i get paid :D i will psot pics of the mx-3 its going in later in the week as ive told tom and a feew others im getting mechanics to install my engine but i will be trying to take lots of pictures to hopefully help out future people who attempt the swap. wish me luck guys and
now ive actually forked over the money for the engine and the ecu im excited as f00k at feeling the power of the KLZE

(FYI once ive had it for a couple of years i will be buying a standalone ecu and prepping the engine for a supercharger that i was interested in when i was browsing the U.S forums.) but i will be updatting this page every month :( sucks but i get paid monthly

  • sounds good, how much have you been quoted for the mechanics to do the swap??

  • dont think ill ever do a klze when ill own a gt4 mx3 in a few years.

  • mechanics said they cant give me qoute untill i get the engine and they put it side by side and say wot fits and wot dosent so i will find out when i get the engine over to them in next week

  • i was quoted by my machanics 800 but decided not to go thru as lot of paper work with dvla, insurance etc

All you have to do is send off the updated log book & get new insurance, not that much paper work really! :)

  • was told by someone else something to do with the car being checked out totally. o well. i rather spend 800 on looks and ice myself. more of style than speed.

  • not about style its alla about suprise keeping my body work completely standard have my self a little sleeper mx-3 some idiots decide to pull up in his

  • If you want power, Turbo or Supercharg it.

  • thought id give u an update on the project and give u some pictures of the donor car and my mx-3 that i drive so here they are

the 1.8 v6 engine alas when i bought it for £100 my friend decided he would snap the crank alas such a waste for such a beautifullym ade engine and car :(

the interior of the v6 a little shabby but i plan on putting some mazda speed racing seats in so no biggy :D

and now for my current drive around mx-3 :D 1.6 dohc p.s i know i could fit a family of illegal immirgrants under my arches but who cares its an mx-3 and i only use it to get to work and get around the v6 will be my pride and glory and i already have H&R lowering springs from corksport im just saving up for the tockiko struts

her is my engine bay dirty i know but like i said it just mainly a work horse.

mods on 1.6 are : B&M Short shifter with Corksport Bronze oil bushing. 14 inch alloys. 2.5 stainless steel cat back system magnecor ignition wires. Aspec racing Induction kit. drilled and slooted front discs

i will be taking pics of my 2.5l KLZE when it arrive next week and some of the mods i have ready to go on the car straight away like GoodRdidge Gstop brakelines. and the H&R lowering springs and some SRD bushing i brought a while back for the 1.6 but i never installed them and can be used for the 1.8 also. I am also gonna swap my B&M short shifter to the v6 once i get the engine installed and up a running

  • you are going to love the power from the KLZE!! Good luck with your project! If you like quick shifting you should get a pacesetter adjustable short throw shifter. I had a B&M for a while but it only reduces by 42%… but the pacesetter can be adjusted down to 80%!! The SRD bushings make a huge difference on launches eliminating some wheel hop, etc.

And where can you geta pacesetter?

  • Just noticed you have ordered your ZE from Nippon, I got mine from there too just a word of warning. Nothing serious they were great with me but the first time I went to pick the engine up they had got me a DE off the shelf by mistake.

They just looked at the manifold and picked the wrong one, just a caution.

The engine is now in though and runs like a DREAM!! where did you get your ECU?? I still cant find one anywhere and really want to get her running properly.

Oh, and any problems feel free to PM me mate, mine completed 2 months ago so its all fresh in my mind

  • @2724fb3e93=micromarc:

And where can you geta pacesetter?

well it might get kind of pricey by shipping international… I just searched google "mx3 pacesetter shifter" and it came up with a few sites. I think I paid about $100 shipped for mine last year. Even if you had to pay an extra $30 in shipping it's still cheaper than the B&M. I paid like $150 4 years ago for the B&M. I might still have it lying around... hmmm

  • well here she is the beautifull KLZE is not a good picture. but its enough to get me excited i getp aid next week and buying the mounts clutch and underdrive pulley from corksport once they arrive it can all be put together :D

    im so freaking excited.

couple of things to not is that when it arrived the temp sensor. oil filter and cam cover were damaged, i phoned up nippon spares explained to them and they said give them an email saying wot parts were damaged and that they would be replaced. my first time buying from nippon but will deffinatly buy from them again a truly great uk based company and great find for the mx-3 community who ever managed to source them. u have my greateast appreciation.

  • nice, how much it set you back bud ?

  • the engine cost £650 including ms8 inlet manifold and shippiung. to wilkos post earlier i bought my ecu of ebay. was alittle worried but checked the guys feedback and he has sold alot of klze ecu's and the feedback was good enough for me to buy the product.

  • Has anyone done a UK shopping list for KLZE conversion? If not anyone fancy it? Just like:

    Part name Price Source etc
