Battery

  • Hi guys any quick tips on how to change the battery on a mx3 V6
    Regards mushman

  • Was pretty straightforward. Make sure you’ve got stereo codes or alarm instructions if you need them. Remove negative, then positive terminals then loose the clamp. Reverse is the opposite of removal!

  • Thanks for that information,I am more puzzled as the battery lies beneath the the suspension stiffening strutt and it appears it would need to be removed also the air con pipe is close by and also would need moving
    Regards mushman

  • @mushman yes the strut brace is only held on with a couple of bolts and comes right out of the way. Just be careful with any hoses and wires. It’s a straightforward job but if you feel it’s too much of a challenge there are many places that’ll do it for you

  • Thank you the info ,I was concerned that the suspension struts might move out of alignment,I recently saw an under bonnet picture of an mx3 V6 and it didn't show the stiffing strut ,any clues when it was added ?
    Regards mushman

  • The brace is only to help stiffen. It is not designed to affect the alignment. 14mm nuts I think. It was seemingly standard on the UK v6 mx3s but not on others across the world. You can do it ;)

  • Thank you for the info I am going to in leave it until the spring and warmer weather ,
    Regards mushman
