Standard Bonnet Mods

  • well as my nan used to say, "each to their own"

  • The history is that the red one was tommy d's. The car got broken up, ze engine went to marco and body kit went to kami no mici and became green
It did look good on the red, it had few other mods like slats removed from front bumper, side scoop for intake, oh carbon fibre seats are now with jay!.
There arnt many photos left of it now if you look in project section as photos have been deleted from users photobucket acc.

  • they look great but a bit ott for what i want.

  • im thinking about the super charged jag vents, but i deffo need the supercharger in first to back up the claim !!

  • just found the thread for eyebrows. General feel is welding them on is best but expensive. Don't think it will be though. Will get a friend to weld it and am doing all spraying myself. All of the paint work is a bit worn anyway so not too bothered about high quality paint job.

  • Have decided welding them on is definitely too big and too fiddly a Job. The head lights seam too bulge out a bit too far. I was thinking couldn't i just get some thin plastic, Attach it to the inside of the bonnet somehow and cut it to the right size. Then just build it up flush with the bonnet with some filler or fibreglass? I know i'm really coming across as an absolute cheepscate on here but such is life.

  • could work! aslong as the plastic base is strong enough? too much flex and the filler will crack after a while…

... or how about a simple strip of black vinyl across the headlights?

  • did try that when the flyeye was on and it looked crap. Probaby better without the flyeye but still would like to try the other way. We'll see

  • maybe find an agent of some kind (vaseline?) that fibreglass cloth/resin wont stick too then actually mold onto the headlight. Then once dry trim and attach to the bonnet.

Just an idea, not saying it will work!

  • had considered that but seems a bit messy.

  • yeah it would be, but no pain no gain :P

  • Easiest and safest (and best) bonnet mod is spacing the bolts on the hinges and raising the trailing edge of the bonnet, lets heat escape and looks JDM cool as fudge

Plus, if you don't like it, you haven't butchered a perfectly good bonnet and can rectify it easily.

JDM as in Ford Escort JDM

For some reason I don't really like the way that looks on an MX. I do like the Neon SRT hood scoop and the FNF Supra cutouts, I dont think I would do it to my car though.
