Tyre Pressures

  • Went to put some air in my n/s rear tyre today, and thought I'd put the pressure gauge on the others while I was there. Some clown had inflated them to 42 PSI!!! WTF??!! Let 'em down to 28, ride is better and a torque steer problem I was having has more or less disappeared. Surprised I still have tread in the centres of the tyres.

  • What is the correct pressure for the tyres? I had mine at 32dpi and was told that i was getting some uneven wear on the left rear tyre?

Should i be at 28 then?

  • i know for the mx3 1.8 its 28 empty car etc just driver and nothing being transported. but with a fully loaded car should be 28.

if you look on the edge of the drivers door ( when open) you should have all the tyre pressure's there along with the excat colour codes and trim specific to your car.

  • You talking stock wheels here? I've got low profiles on 17s and the recommended psi is probably different to that of stock.

  • to be honest, anything between 28-30 psi should be fine…

Been fitting tyres for years now and we alwayas put 30 psi in them no matter what car it is... obvioulsy unless its anything bigger than a car!
