Dipped Beam Just Isn't Good Enough

  • My only niggle with my MX3 is the dipped beam. The illumination just isnt good enough for those late night hacks down the country and A roads. I have checked that the lights are functioning correctly and are properly adjusted.

I am tempted to just upgrade to some road illegal 100W bulbs and swap them out come MOT time. I dont really want to start fitting any special kits and wondered if anybody had any experience of my chosen solution.

Yep, they have this problem, the lights really do suck big time, I've got the 100% better light bulbs but they are still pants, so drive everywhere at night with my spots on (not that they help too much).

  • I fitted a 6k HID kit, now the reflection from road signs is too bright so big loss either way, dont know if projectors headlights make them any better

  • People drive theirs at night… I've got 8k hids on but will be picking up projectors soon.

The stock lights are just shit.

  • I have the exact same problem, I have already fitted those slightly not legal bulbs and they didn't help in the slightest :(
    damn you's mazda!

  • projectors are awesome, if i was still insured on my bike Id show you, they have a cut off plate so they dont blind oncoming drivers, so they also dont light up signs too much until you put them on full beam, and then its like driving with stadium floodlights, guessing your HID kit is the crappy illegal variety dj?
