DJMARCOPOLO'S - The GREEN RIVET

  • @d592d53b2e=nightstalker:

Goodbye. I'm off to go stick my head in the snow.

Talking of which, you had much snow over there.? it's usually 30+ degrees C here around this time of year, but we've had a heap of rain instead these last 3 weeks…

  • This is a pic of the crack in the rim of the konigs

  • Well found why the tyres were battering the arches, forgot I had over 50kg in club lights in the boot.
Now thyre out the wheels arent grounding into the arches but still think they are a little over size so still want to swap them off.

My new exhaust started getting unwrapped today :D

  • why do the tyres/wheels rub? are they 205 tyres ?, wheels look like 18" wheels  !. is the offest quite large ?.
only seen one large exhaust on mx3 and it sounded insane!!. But wasnt to everyones taste. Cant wait to see it tho!

They are 18" wheels-225/40/18, you cannot get any larger tyre in there than those, there is 10mm space when on full lock and about 10mm between the tyre and the spring at the bottom of the strut.
because I have lowered the car 40mm the wheels bounce up into the wheelarch lip and just rub the edge of the tyre.
It is all down to the springs, if they were standard they would fit perfect

  • I was a bit bored today so I put my 6k HID kit in today. Gotta say it is bright, lights everything up slightly blue and you will never miss a road sign again.

I also replaced a damaged bulb holder in the rear lights and checked the oil, I put the battery on the OEM equipe project and it fired up first time. :D

Heres some pics of the HID kit

  • looks well, always fancied these myself but too obsessed with reducing items in the bay atm! Good work.

They are a pain in the arse, they have to have an almost perfect grounding to them otherwise they suddenly go off while you are driving. I have to say when they are working the amount of light they give out is amazing and make everything very bright including road signs

The 18" wheels are up for sale and have found an astra with a hideous bodykit on it with some nice 17's so I am going to knock his door to try and swap them :D

Anyway christmas has come early and I can see what I will be doing boxing day, I may even go for it with the big exhaust next week too

    6 x Splitfire leads
    Ally oil filler cap
Imported Weapon R induction kit with carbon fibre filter

Another ebay bargain, I wont tell you how much that lot cost because you will all feel sick but I was extremely lucky to get it

  • Been a busy bee today, got my Weapon R induction kit and Kerr Nelson K1 leads fitted today along with the ally oil filler.

Gotta say WOW, the difference some decent leads and decent induction kit makes, not a flat spot anywhere through the rev range now

  • Dude what happened to the mushroom tip. i always thought that looked cool. induction looks sweet as now though.

  • I did love my mushroom in there but it is just a tube and filter but the weapon R has some decent technology fitted to make the engine eat more oxygen, heres the info on them, I have the more expensive real carbon + stainless washable filter

  • I have removed the 18" alloys and found these 17's for £75 plus swapping my new tyres from the konigs on for £40, no idea what brand but they are identical to the Peugeot 306 Rallye except a 4x100 fitment

    also

I am back in the official djmarcopolo WHITE WHEELS CLUB

  • looking good DJ. what happened to the wheels on your sig? they look awesome. what do you use to paint them?

  • @f2821d7452=Eddy_B:

looking good DJ. what happened to the wheels on your sig? they look awesome. what do you use to paint them?

They are standard 94-98 UK V6 alloys on the sig pic, we have equipes so they are the ones you have on yours that are only available on the equipes.
If you are not keen on yours I am sure another member would swap yours for a set of standard V6 alloys

I just give them 2 coats primer , 2 coats gloss and 2 coats lacquer that gives them a deep gloss and keeps the brake dust out of the white, although the ones on the sig pic I experimented with paints and used 2 coats of white radiator enamel brushed on then 2 spray lacquer and that lasted well and came out well

  • Loving the new wheels. Best ones to date I think.

  • Has a set of V6 wheels he would swap for a set of equipe ones.!

  • Hmmmm think ill pass lori, thanks for the offer though. Am loving my little car as God (and DJ) intended.

I do like them, they need some work on them but they are done for now as I couldnt go on smacking the wheel arches about at the back.

Once I restore the Equipe wheels for the OEM one I will get these powder coated a nice gold or stick with the white :D

    now these wheels look good

  • I am dead happy how they suit the car, I had a choice of 3 and they were the cheapest, although he sold them with "new" tyres on it, when I had them removed ALL of them had been driven flat at some time

They will get restored in the future, they are a bit tatty but now I can drive her properly again
