INSURANCE

  • Hi all, its time for me to renew my insurance and I have been reading in the paper that prices are going up quite considerably so I went on confused.com to see by how much and mine is up by and it starts at around 25%

Best I can get is £340 now with full NCB, no points legal cover etc

Anyone know of any good insurers they use that are cheaper than these deal sites.

A big thanks too to choice quote who quoted £1976 for a years insurance

  • my insurance is still around 700 as i got 1 years ncb and im under 25, the best companies i have found are the admiral group..bell, elephant etc,

ive heard good things about sky insurance, if they give you a good quote go to directline and the they will beat it

theres is loads about geting the best deal on moneysavingexpert.com

**Four years ago, mine was £285. This year, with the same company, it's £385 and that's still the best I can get. With twelve years NCB, no points, no accidents etc. etc.

By comparison, the Accord Type-R on the same policy is £415.**

  • wen i passed my test the mx3 was my first car and the best i could do was 1800 and that was me as a second driver

  • Its shocking i have heard all the prices are going up but £60-70 or even over £100 is a lot if you multiply that by the people who could be bothered to get insurance, thats a 25% increase.

With the state of the uninsured here we should get like south africa and free 3rd party insurance every time you fill up with fuel as its added on as tax

Always quick to blame others, yet when I had a claim with witnesses for some dozy bird taking my mirror off and damaging the front bumper while I was stationary and then trying to leg it, the police wanted to press charges of dangerous driving but I was too nice and said I would leave it to the insurance company, when the claim went in they said I may have to go 50/50 as I do not have photographs
Should have watched her fry in court.

When I first got my MX I bought it because it was a V6 and the insurance was £193 all in and that was a lot cheaper than my 1.4 astra I had before

In 4-5 years its gone up 50%, this country would be on fire if that was council tax.

I am p!ssed with this, I may just go to 3rd party, the best I can get is £400 total excess, thats more than I paid for the car and got it roadworthy again, with the wheels, new tyres and mods I have done its still only another £270 on top

  • wow you lot have got your insurance cheap i can only dream of them prices

  • @06183328a1=Lori:

    £1300 TPFT 1st year of Driving + 3 points.

    **Ouch.

We have the MX-3, an Accord Type-R and the BMW 523i Touring on one policy with both of us driving and my wife's 3 points from last year for £100 less than that…

But we are both a million years old.**

  • im 25 with 6 years no claims, ze plus mods declared, with direct line i pay £340 per year for fully comp i been with them six years now and its all good.

  • Was 3000 euros as a name driver, the policy in my own name would've cost 5/6k (). It's a lot cheaper when I go to get insurance this year though since I'm 18, about 1500.

When I lived in Ireland I had a mazda 323 1.3l with fiull no claims and that cost me 900 euros, that was a shocking amount to pay out there

  • My MX-3 ZE insured as an MX-6 at 200 bhp all mods declared 6 yrs ncb no points 3rd party F+F 6000 miles per year £340 through HIC.

Whats funny was that the best quote they could give me for a standard 1.8 V6 was £410 as they said they don't really do standard cars??

They mainly sell deals for other companies so they have different prices every week so you just got to keep trying, then when you get a good deal haggle them down a bit further.

16 months ago it was only £250

  • Thanks will try a couple of these and post back during the week :D

  • I was paying £130 a month to insure my V6 with E-Car and now i've lost my job i'm looking at £200!

I'm currently 20 with 2 years NCB (3 in November).

  • blimey 120 a month is scarey, I checked and I can get a nissan 300zx for £50 cheaper lol
