Rear jacking point?

  • Is there somewhere under the back in the centre of the car
where I can jack up , like a rear subframe?

  • We normally jack it on the cross member in the center and lift the car on one jack but I guess you are disconnecting it to put the struts in.
Maybe a block at each end under the chassis rail, if you use a thick square piece of plywood either side the ply will spread the weight so its not loaded on a single point. I do that for a living on yachts and it works fine so same with ya car.

  • when i did the front struts i jacked using one jack in the middle on the front
crossmember and then used axle stands on the sills!

just wondering if there was the same structure at the back?
looked last time but couldnt see a decent point to jack on.

only thing I'll be disconnecting is the strut from hub hopefully :)

Yes, jack in the middle and put stands on the sills (you will see a small reinforced area for them to go on just like on the front
