Ryan's MX-3

  • @19e20b6966=Ryan:

:D Plenty of NX's in scrapyards to pull the skirts off too. I can't see anything that would stop them from fitting well anyway, bit of filling + more cutting needed at the front but nothing major.

They do show how small my alloys are though.

Nah, just need cleaning up and the car dropping and it'll be reet 8)

  • Need some sort of excuse to slap a set of red Rota GT3's on though! :D

I've decided to blend in the standard MX side spat into the the 100nx sideskirt, been measuring it up, should look decent. Pics soon. :D

When ya gonna send me that splitter? :P

  • Bought some stuff. :) JDM wraparound spoiler, OEM V6 wheels with Eunos centrecaps, electric folding mirrors, front strut brace and a couple of other bits. Collecting them in a few weeks. Very excited. :D

Got a friend to knock up a photoshop of what it should look like lowered on the wheels + with the sideskirts on:

Going to black out the headlights like a few have done here & on the US forum within a few weeks.

Been planning out the sideskirts as well, the mazda spat should attach & blend into the Nissan skirt very easily. Having a blast at doing it on the weekend. It should be hard enough to distinguish these from the real deal when they are done.

Fitted a new CD player too, just a black Goodmans one for the time being. Wasn't a fan of the flip front Kenwood one in it, that and the volume knob broke. lol :P

Should be back on the road with a respray early/mid August. :D

  • Looks good. I must admit though I'm not a massive fan of the standard alloys (none of them), most of them look cheap, I like the ones that Famine has (SE or ZE? Can't remember, the 5 spoke dished with false bolts on the lip).

He should have colour coded the lip for you as well so you could have seen what your baby would have looked like when finished.

I'm loving the skirts and as I said before, I'm watching some on ebay. Have you got a closer shot of the rear on the car so I can see how much needs trimming down? I'm thinking those with some arch extensions blended in and the rear wheels on spacers would look "phat" as they say.

I also think if you are going for a respray you should go white with black bits (bonnet, lip, spoiler etc). Make it a Panda!

Cheers bud, watch this (or my worklog) space ;)

  • Collected all my JDM bits a couple of hours ago and I got a rather nice suprise thrown in as well - Eunos Presso floormats :D :D :D

Anyone ever seen a set of the Eunos floormats like these before? I only ever remember seeing the multicoloured ones.

Really happy with the wheels too 'cos they have no curbing marks at all, just need a thorough clean.

    :D

  • BASTARD - Complete and utta BASTARD.

Dibs if you find a 2nd set!!!

alos, PM me where you got them from you git! :)

  • And me matey, think I need one of those wrap around wings.

  • I got them from a Presso that was being broken, which is now in the scrapyard missing all it's nice JDM goodies.

But I want more JDM stuff, so will be looking around to see more Presso's for breaking, since I've got a lot of what I want I'll buy the JDM things I don't need and stick 'em up here for whoever wants them. 8) It's rather handy too because most of the MX-3's in Ireland are Jap imports.

  • Please do bud,

You could have robbed the bonnet badge as well :P

  • Spent a while cleaning my new alloys & Eunos mats today:

Turned out well. Need to find the digital camera again though 'cos the camera on my phone is shite

Working on the wraparound spoiler tomorrow too, want to get it into primer asap.

And, I'll be finishing up on a little project tomorrow using a spare 3rd brake light I got from the Eunos. It's going to be like this except say "MX-3":

  • Finished up with the 3rd brake light mod (which looks awesome) only to attempt to fit it and realise that the car doesn't have one fitted as standard.

I'll have a gander tomorrow to see if the wiring for one is already there, I'm really hoping it is.

  • Looks really good, don't think there is any wiring there for a 3rd brake light but you have to remove the plastics to run a link wire anyway.

  • Very nice, I have just received my 3rd brake light today and will try and fit in a couple of weeks

  • Dj you got all the plastics to cover it in the boot? I have a spare set you can have.

  • Ordered Bilstein shocks, now just need to decide on whether I want Eibach or H&R springs….

I also ordered a certain set of 'skirts that'll look very JDM..... :P :D

Deciding on what tyres to get for the new wheels too, it's looking like I'll get either Toyo T1R's or Vredestein Sportrac 3's. Think I'll go with the Vred's, much better wet weather performance seemingly and only 30/40 quid more for all 4 on camskill. 8)

  • Ahh very nice!

Well, eibach make great springs, but the 30mm drop isn't enough IMO. H&R also make great springs and look very nice being -45mm but they're hard going on OEM shocks (which Bilstein are a direct replacement).

I'm keen on T1Rs. I tried the Vredestein something something. They were cheaper ones than T1Rs, and you could tell, I should have tried the sportracs.

I have Toyo T1R's i got them from http://camskill.co.uk/ my size is 195/50/15 very cheap from that site at £30 a tyre

ive got something up with my steering so cant say how good they are on the mx3 but i had them on the mx5 and trying to pull a drift was hard as they had so much grip. pretty good in the wet aswell, All round i rate them very good for there price
