Was there someone on here offering KL-ZE conversions?

  • seem to remember someone on here offering there services for the KL-ZE
    engine swap?

  • I'd be really interested as well.

  • That will be me.

It works out £450 - £500 unless there are any unforseen problems

You have to supply all the parts including Fluids.

I will not do OBDII cars or 1.6 conversions.

If you want the cambelt, waterpump or clutch changed then thats extra.

You supply the ECU chip but I will get it chipped for you.

You have to do any prep to the engine, paint it etc.

You have to remove the exhaust headers from the ZE before it comes to me. Its only a few bolts but they snap alot and I need to know if they have snapped so I can arrange to get the broken bits extracted ( it will cost extra for this you see )

    –-----

FOR LIMITED TIME ONLY Won't charge much.
I'm also offer a service where you can do most of the work yourself under my supervision while i'm working on other projects and I will help with the tricky stuff. This is a limited offer as I'm back to shell restoring my own MX3 so as soon as i'm finished this will not be offered.

Also i'm moving in the next 3-6 months and will not be doing conversions anymore (or for a good while anyway)

    Herer is my swap thread:

If you have a 1.6 its a whole different ballgame.

You need all of the wiring from an OBDI 1.8 MX3 and you have to swap it all over and its uncharted territory.

Better off buying an OBDI MX3 that has a duff engine or something thats going cheap on ebay. £250 max.

Thats what I would do anyway.

Its a shame, I have two MX3's with engine problems that are waiting for me to sort them but both are OBDII otherwise you could have had one of them for £200

  • ECU chip needs to be sorted before any work can begin.

  • I have a surplus '93 V6 wiring loom and ECU. Probably. Won't know for sure for another couple of months though.

  • Hi, thanks for all the info boss, much appreciated.
    I would be buying a minty white 1.8 V6 mx-3 for the Kl-ZE conversion :D

  • Make sure its OBDI, if you get a 1991 or 1992 then you can legally remove the CAT.

Give us a shout if you need any advice or if you would like our help with it.

  • About the CAT thing… does that rule actually apply over there? Here where MOTs are stricter and only in official DVLA test centers they don't care. If it passes emissions and doesn't leak its fine.

    **No.

Catalytic convertors were legally required to be fitted to all new cars from 1993 on, but they are not an MoT test item. The car only needs to pass the emissions test standards for catted cars - the cat itself does not need to be present.**

  • I got a Probinator chip so mine never passes anyway without some lubrication of the MOT tester.
