Uprated Ground wires

  • I've just been reading that uprating the grounding wires could be beneficial with all manner of performance issues (better fuel consumption, less engine noise and better response).

Has anybody done this or anyone know where to get some better wires from?

  • I know that your car starts much better if that helps, the one i have now has a ground wire kit on, my old one didnt and the difference is huge.

  • barry if you can measure the wires and photo the ends and joints ETC i may be able to make sets…
naturally we would need pics of locations and fitting..

  • Yeh no probs i will get some pics today.

Now all i ask is your views on these and feedback...

  • Thats the one i have i think, cant compare before and after on same car but like i said my old one started nowhere near as easy as this one does.

  • I made mine, just had some left over 10mm black fine stranded cable left over ( sub wiring type ) then crimped on crimp lugs and made a daisy chain style around engine bay. Dont know if it really made that much difference but atleast there are some good grounding points now.

  • Would these replace the grounding wires that are currently around the chasis or are they extra just for teh engine bay?

    (sorry for the numpty question)

  • just extras, the more grounding points you can make the better the voltage as there is less resistance.
