**The ride's a little on the harsh side (though less so than our Mk1 MX-5… brrrr), but the handling? GTFO.

Aaanyway. I'd expect to pay £2k tops for a below-average-mileage, R-plate, V6 in properly mint condition - so £1.5k for a late model in good condition seems okay to me, mileage depending.

Red's up to 107k now, though not in mint condition at the moment (she's getting there). I'd still be lucky to get £2k for her if I was selling because, even though the mileage is below average, people are blinded by 6-digit odometers. 100k is a big turn-off - though we all know these things can run thrice that without a problem (if serviced properly).**

  • Please note all for the record i never made the quote ref the handling..

**I bought mine in September 2003 for £3,250.

18 months later - at a Mazda garage where it was being serviced and MoTed - a mechanic offered me £5k for it.

And no, I'm glad I didn't take it - Red's become part of our family, and is getting packed into a shipping container when we emigrate :D**

At the moment, all plans are for Oregon. It's a few years away yet, mind.

  • Low milage, FSH, T&T up to £1300
    Mid Milage 75 - 85,000 some history , in good condition, T&T £500 - £850
High milage 115,000+ in good nick, T&T up to £600

But as soon as the condition is anything but good the price starts to drop quickly.

  • i paid 500 clams for mine. 115,000ish in good con, with T&T. that was a smidge over 2 years ago.

These prices seem quite fair and accurate,
I have done well out of my mazdas the first MX3 the guy was desperate and I beat him down to £550 from £950 for a j plate with 155k, FMDSH and every factory extra because he was desperate and I like to haggle low LOL

The second and current one I did a 8 hour round trip to cornwall to get a 97 R plate with 71k and FSH for £800 this is about a year ago it depends where you go there are some bargains around or they go for book price.

I did see last summer a local forecourt with a 1998 'S' plate MX3 in silver for £2495
