<![CDATA[Need a Aluminium engine paint]]>I'm looking for an aluminium engine paint.

I normally ues Hi-Cote VHt and it is very good but its a kind of satin finish (it looks just like fresh alloy) but i'm after something glossy that can be washed down / cleaned more easily.

I tried using some simonez high temp clear coat over the top but it just made it look darker and dull.

Anyone had good results with anything else? Got an engine i'm stripping next weekend and want to get the paint bought by then.

Also I havent got access to leccy so no compressor :( so needs to be aerosol based.

Also need some lambo yellow high gloss paint for a rocker cover so needs to be High Temp but not VHT if anyone has any suggestions.

Rocker covers don't get hot enough to warrant using VHT IMO

Its got to be rattle cans aswell until we get the electrics sorted for the garages and that won't be in time for this job.

Its basically the same method I used before with a gloss clear over satin aluminium. Perhaps this is better quality clear??

Do I really need the primer?

I know I need to use a primer for the yellow, but the alluminium satin paint is funny stuff and for alot of manufacturers is designed to go straight on. But it marks so easy thats why I was thinking of a clear coat over the top.

I was really after a gloss alluminium, might just do a gloss grey.

Block would need to be completely bare and blasted then I would imagine to do be able to do that. Would look mint though!
