Sorry, no help to the original poster but I've got same question. Sad

Based on the noise I have a dodgy CV joint drivers side. Had a quick look and gaitors look good (was really hoping for a big sign saying It's me) and no play in road wheel.
My questions are:
1. should I just replace outer CV joint or go for new shafts?
2. is there an inner and is it likely to knock?
3. which bits of the job will either drive me insane or try to cut off my fingers (and how do I avoid aforementioned calamities)?
4. And has anybody used/tried the CV's from ebay.......£18 is very attractive!
A newbie to the mx-3 but quite used to getting bathed in oil maintaining my cars Smile

1 - Just do the CV Joint unless the shaft is shafted
2 - No idea.
3 - How old is it? it can get rusty under there.
4 - Google the fordprobestore, they sell a lot of MX3 parts and good prices, used myself and good service. (owner is on here as well)
